Overview GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB . The Kitchen Support Specialist will assist in organizing, managing, and coordinating daily food service functions across the campus, as well as assisting in supervising of volunteers who carry out these functions. This not only includes monitoring the service of food and beverages to clients and students, but also knowledge and adherence to labor laws and health compliance regulations. The Kitchen Support Specialist will place food orders, monitor inventory, work with Cook to create menus, ensure cleanliness of kitchen and food/supplies storage and meet industry and legal requirements for all aspects of food service. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . - Work with Soup Kitchen Cook and monitor the day-to-day operations of the hot meal program, Learning Zone food service (preschool, afterschool, and summer enrichment), and special event meals and snacks. - Plan with Cook for food for entire food service program. - Place orders for all supplies and food.
