Assistant Professor, Cardiovascular Medicine - ( 2405508 ) Description Outpatient Cardiologists – Job Duties (Galveston, Friendswood, Clear Lake outpatient clinics) The following outlines the professional responsibilities for outpatient cardiologists within the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). These duties align with UTMB’s mission of excellence in patient care, education, research, and community engagement. Clinical Care: · Conduct outpatient cardiology clinics for new, return, and follow-up patients. · Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests (e.g., ECG, echocardiography, stress testing, Holter monitoring, ). · Develop and manage individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. · Coordinate referrals to subspecialty services (e.g., electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure). · Manage medication regimens, including initiation, titration, and monitoring. · Provide same-day patient access when clinically indicated. · Respond to patient and referring provider inquiries in a timely manner.
