GENERAL PURPOSE: Performs a variety of professional and technical supervisory duties related to developing, updating and filing of drawings and databases for substation, transmission and distribution projects and related facilities. Plans & coordinates work associated with AutoDesk/ESRI and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including interfaces with Outage Management, Design and Job Order systems CityWorks software. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of the Power Engineering Manager. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Provides close to general supervision to GIS/CAD staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Performs Some or all of the following) Leader/Managerial Functions: Supervises and directs the work of GIS/CAD staff engaged in various duties related to engineering projects and AutoDesk/ESRI GIS database updates. Oversees and coordinates technical aspects of all GIS/CAD related projects and database records; oversees the day-to-day operations of unit activities to ensure effective and efficient accomplishment of goals; resolves complex GIS/CAD issues.
