Position Overview: Multimatic’s Damper Design team is looking for a Design Engineer to develop new suspension damper products and support existing product lines. The ideal candidate uses a data-driven approach with creative thinking to solve problems, and enjoys the fast-pace of the automotive industry. This role requires product ownership from concept generation to high-volume production launch, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Design Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: - Generate innovative design concepts to meet customer requirements, incorporating design for manufacturing (DFM) feedback in a wide range of manufacturing processes - 3D modelling (Siemens NX) of components and assemblies within vehicle environments - Drafting using GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and identifying significant characteristics - Creating and maintaining DFMEAs - Defining setup and reviewing results of CAE/FEA/CFD activities with Analysis Engineers - Writing Component Test Specifications, working with Test Engineers to develop procedures and fixtures - Coordination of validation testing, and tracking performance in DVP&Rs - Hands-on assembly of prototypes, new concepts, or product demons...
