POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, walkways, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. One will align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, patch voids, and use saws to cut expansion joints. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: - Signals concrete truck driver to position vehicle to facilitate pouring concrete. - Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms. - Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with a rake or shovel. - Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency with handheld screen and floats to bring water to the surface and produce a soft topping. - Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete. - Finishes concrete surfaces and wets and rubs concrete with an abrasive stone to finish. - Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound. - Molds...
