Job description

Operates mammography equipment to produce diagnostic breast images. May assist Radiologist with needle localizations and any other special procedures required. The technologist must be able to produce quality images to present to the radiologist for interpretation and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Clinical Responsibility: - Positions patient, obtains images and archives procedures according to established protocol producing diagnostic quality images within the clinical image quality standards established by the ACR. - Documents pertinent patient information such as breast health history, family history, scars, moles, location of lumps, etc. - Correctly inputs all patient information into ID flasher systems. - Documents pertinent patient information including beast health history, family history, scars, moles, location of lumps, etc. - Knowledge of quality control procedures. - Educates patient on breast self-exams, providing literature and answering questions as needed. - Notifies patient of need to return for additional imaging studies.
