deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Data Scientist in Huntsville, AL. Position Description: deciBel Research is seeking a mid-level Data Scientist to support a research effort by performing data processing and analysis of large scientific data sets. Responsibilities include: - Analyze large atmospheric, meteorological, and climate data sets from satellites, radar, sensors, and numerical models - Process and analyze geospatial and time-series data - Collect, clean, and pre-process structured and unstructured data from multiple sources - Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques - Translate complex analytical results into clear scientific insights using a variety of plotting packages Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM-related field Experience Requirements: - 5+ years of relevant experience. - Experience with the Linux operating system - Strong proficiency in Python (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, xarray, Anaconda) - Solid understanding of statistics and probability - Understanding of statistical techniques used to perform data analysis on large data sets - Current SECRET clearance - Strong problem-solving and critical...
