Material Planner

Job description

Job Summary The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials and components required for production while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, procurement, production planning, and logistics teams to maintain an efficient and uninterrupted supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Material Planning & Inventory Management: - Develop and execute material planning strategies based on production schedules and demand forecasts - Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock while avoiding shortages or excess - Maintain accurate master data (lead times, safety stock, MOQ, etc.) in ERP systems - Track material consumption and adjust plans accordingly Supplier Coordination: - Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials - Monitor supplier performance (OTIF, lead time adherence, quality issues) - Follow up on late deliveries and proactively mitigate supply risks Production Support: - Align material availability with production plans to avoid downtime - Communicate material shortages or risks to production and planning teams Data Analysis & Reporting: - Anal...
