WLKY, the CBS affiliate in Louisville, KY, offers paid internships for college students. In order to apply for an internship at WLKY, please provide a cover letter with your application. The cover letter should include : Interns will spend 10-12 weeks shadowing and gaining on-the-job experience. You will be working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. You will report to the News Director. - Semester availability: Summer - Position preference: News Producer, News Reporter, Video-Journalist, Technical Production, Digital Producer - Available start and end dates - Days and hours available to intern News Producer: - You will collaborate with news managers and other producers to determine what the important stories are daily that need to be covered. - You will learn how to write copy for broadcast, research stories for details and accuracy, and develop the ability to complete projects quickly and efficiently. - You will learn how to manage the execution of a live newscast in a control room, working closely with production staff. - You will learn how to create graphic elements, including lower-third supers and full screen graphics. - You must be able to work under tight deadline...
