Job Profile Summary Under the guidance of the physical therapist, administers physical therapy programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain & prevent disability. Adhere to the professional standards of GH and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). JOB TITLE : Physical Therapy Assistant STATUS: Per Diem: LOCATION: St. Lawrence-Massena Hospital - 269 Andrews St., Massena, NY DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy Rehab: SCHEDULE: Varies, Day shift, 8-hr. shifts; flexible between 7 am - 5 pm; Monday - Friday 1. Administers patient treatment plan involving application of physical therapy techniques and modalities as indicated and under the supervision of the physical therapist. Monitors response and progress to update and discuss modifications to the treatment plan with the physical therapist in order to meet patient goals. Provides for audiology screening services. 2. Instructs patients and family members/caregivers in physical therapy procedures and self-care techniques. Directs care that is provided by the physical therapy assistant by providing oversight.
