ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) creates and coordinates services that enhance the quality of life for Cambridge residents. Driven by the needs of residents, DHSP’s extensive services and programs touch almost every sector in the city: from newborns to senior citizens, from school-aged children to homeless families, from non-profit organizations to local employers. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP), operated by the Office of Workforce Development (OWD), is a municipal summer employment program serving more than 1000 Cambridge teens year. One of the worksites is the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) Career Exploration Program, where a group of six teens spend time at several local STEAM workplaces to learn what is involved in those career pathways.
