Job description

St. Mary’s Medical Center is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician assistant in the CVT- Critical Care . The individual in the role will p romote excellence in patient care by advancing the quality, efficient, and cost-effective care. - Daily hospital rounds with physician. - Dictates patient’s admission history and physical. - Orders appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays and other diagnostic test as deemed necessary by the patient’s condition in collaboration with the physician. - Prescribes appropriate medications to manage the patient’s diagnosis. - Prescribes treatment plans including appropriate diet, rest, activities, etc. - Performs minor bedside procedures. - Communicates information regarding patient status and needs to the attending physician. - Initiate appropriate evaluation and emergency management treatment for emergency situations. - Prepares and dictates patient’s discharge summary and/or the transfer of care notes Qualifications: EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant program Licensure: Current licensure in the State of West Virginia Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner NP-BC/National: Certification in Physician A...
