Summary Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician’s assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice. Initiate’s action to alleviate patient’s stress and discomfort. Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe for each patient encounter.
