Description The English department at Ursinus College seeks a one-year appointment for a Visiting Assistant Professor of English literature. The successful candidate will specialize in British literatures post-1800. A sub-specialization in Environmental Studies is preferred, though we will also consider experience in other cross-disciplinary areas (such as disability studies). The appointment, beginning August 2024, carries a 3/3 teaching load and a serious commitment to undergraduate teaching. Responsibilities include upper- and lower-division classes in the English department and a section of our college-wide, first-year seminar, the Common Intellectual Experience. We seek candidates who are comfortable with student-centered learning and able to work closely with students on independent projects. Ph.D. in hand or expected by Fall 2024.
