Description Assistant Professor in Cognitive and Psychological Sciences. The Department of Cognitive and Psychological Sciences (CoPsy) at Brown University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2026, working in the area of AI and the Mind. We invite applications from scientists advancing research at the intersection of AI and cognition. Candidates may bridge artificial and natural intelligence through modeling, experimentation, or theory, and are encouraged to pursue diverse approaches. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: AI models of cognitive processes, AI tools for probing the mind and brain, brain–computer interfaces, cognitive enhancement, human–AI interaction, algorithmic bias, and neural metaphors in computing. In addition to building an externally funded, nationally recognized research program, a successful candidate will provide effective instruction and advising to a diverse group of graduate and undergraduate students and be willing to interact with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines and academic backgrounds.
