Job description
The Manh Choh Project is a greenfield gold deposit in eastern Alaska being developed with ore being hauled to Kinross’ Fort Knox mine north of Fairbanks for processing. The mine site is located in the Tetlin Hills, approximately 250 miles southeast of Fort Knox and 10 miles southeast of Tok. Production is expected to begin in 2024. Job Summary: Responsible for safe and efficient operation of sampling equipment, vehicles, loaders, and forklifts. Abilityto complete routine sampling, inspections, and opacity readings with minimal supervision. Familiarity with site permits, plans, and pertinent regulations along with EPA guidance. Responsible for completing work in accordance with the FGMI procedures, pertinent regulations, and EPA guidance documents. Communication, training, and interaction with other departments to assist with environmental compliance is an essential part of the Technicians responsibilities. Essential Functions: - Inspect waste storage areas, maintenance areas, water basins and camp facilities, and monitor wildlife and habitat on the mine site for compliance and report to corresponding department of any deficiencies. - Collect surface and groundwater samples. - Condu...
