SUMMARY: Calvin University is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide medical/administrative support for physicians , nurse practitioners and a physician assistant in delivering medical care to patients . This position offers medical, vision and dental benefits. Schedule: Five (5) days per week during the academic year (September-April) when the office is open and 1-3 days per week during the summer. The office is closed for all holidays, with two weeks off every Christmas break and one week off during Calvin's spring break. We are also closed Mondays and Fridays during the summer months. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Responsibilities to include but not be limited to the following: PATIENT CARE: - Patient Care: Receive patients, obtain information and enter into the electronic record regarding chief complaint, vital signs and reconciling medication list. - Prepare patient and exam room for assessment or minor procedures and assist with the discharge of the patient by assisting the provider with dispensing of medications or planning follow-up care appointments. - Perform clinical support functions such as: vision screening, giving injections (including vaccines), ear irrigations, peak flow testi...
