Job description

Company Description At CERN , the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Introduction: As an Electrical Engineer, you will take a leading role in the major CMS electrical infrastructure activities during the upcoming upgrade of the detector. You will interface with the CERN electrical infrastructure team in charge of the project execution to refine the specifications according to the CMS needs, validate the technical solutions and coordinate their implementation. Within the CMS Technical Coordination team, you will supervise the power distribution cabling activities for the CMS sub-detectors. You will also participate in the safety assessment of all electrical activities, including the lock-down and the re-powering of all systems, from low-voltage to high-voltage detector systems...
