City/State Virginia Beach, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Cardiac Care Unit. Hours/Shift: Full-time, days. Approximately 7am to 7pm Department/Position Overview: CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) is a 12-bed high-level intermediate care unit that specializes in caring for cardiac and vascular patients before and after interventional procedures and surgeries such as cardiac catheterizations, coronary bypass surgery, carotid surgery, and peripheral vascular surgery. CCU also cares for congestive heart failure and arrhythmia patients. Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
