Description The Integrated Design & Media Program in the Department of Technology, Culture, and Society at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in Integrated Design & Media, at the level of Industry Assistant Professor, with a start date of September 1, 2026 . Practice: We are seeking candidates with diverse and hybridized backgrounds (some combination of scholar, artist, designer, or developer) whose work addresses themes of gender, race, labor, accessibility, and other crucial issues of societal context (bias, surveillance, authorship, consent) through emerging media technologies. We are particularly interested in creative practice and research that focuses on equity, civic engagement, and broadening participation in emerging technology through activism, advocacy, design justice, or other strategies. Candidates should be materially working with emerging media technologies and design practices in one or more of the following areas: visual design, web tools, machine learning, extended reality (AR, VR, spatial computing) and 3D .
