Position Summary: This Derivative Trader executes energy derivative instruments as they relate to inventory management and storage hedging. Includes, but not limited to, Crude, Gasoline, Diesel, Natural Gas, and related Agricultural products. Serves as a resource to management and physical traders on paper markets given corporate risk profile. Performs ad hoc analysis for energy related commodities. Serves on teams that serve cross functional activities. Performs back up execution on energy commodities. Key Responsibilities: Develops and implements negotiating tactics to complement planned sales/supply strategies and to increase the efficiency of such activities. Continuously reviews market conditions and the short- and medium-term supply and sales plans; recommends and implements changes to the plan to optimize overall value to MPC (product yield shifts, sales channel shifts, import/export changes, etc.).
