This position performs large numbers of molecular and microbiological tests for the poultry and livestock industries, testing for diseases of economic and zoonotic importance to Commonwealth of Virginia animal producers. The selected individual will perform real-time polymerase chain reactions testing using the ABI 7500 and QuantStudio PCR systems. They may also be cross-trained in the following disciplines: serology, dairy microbiology and diagnostic bacteriology.
