IT Computer Lab Apprentice

Job description

The principal role of the Computer Lab Apprentice is to train and develop skills learned from the Computer Lab Supervisors and Technicians. Regular tasks include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and/or upgrading computer hardware, along with installing, upgrading, testing, and troubleshooting software. The Computer Lab Apprentice provides weekend staff coverage, and works with supervisors and technicians during the week. The Computer Lab Apprentice has the opportunity to work with various Computer Lab staff in their areas of expertise. This is to provide the Apprentice with a well-rounded learning experience, and help them discover their niche in the Computer Lab. This is a professional position that demands courteous and polite interactions with customers and other employees. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Staff the service desks on a regularly scheduled basis, offering assistance to students, staff, faculty, and visitors. 2.
