Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join our Technical and Operations team as a Sr. Software Engineer supporting our Individual Life Insurance Division. About the role: We are looking for an experienced individual to join a team of software developers in support of our primary life insurance policy administration system. That system – CyberLife - is a legacy mainframe application that administers the large majority of our life insurance business. We have a very experienced staff of developers, but need additional capacity to develop new products, expand our capabilities, and move us toward a more digital, real-time processing system. What you will do: - Participate in daily Agile/Kanban ceremonies - Assess new requirements to provide high-level estimates - Design and document system integrations and coding enhancements - Develop secure, performant code following team best practices - Execute unit testing and Support integration, acceptance and regression testing - Coordinate the movement of code between our various technical environments - Support resolution of critical production support issues - Participate in design and code reviews - Mentor team members as necessary prov...
