Description St. Croix Health is looking for a part-time (0.60 FTE) Charge Registered Nurse to work in our Med/Surg department. This position will work straight night shifts (7pm - 7:30am), every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday. Job Summary: The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating the operations of the unit under guidance of the Supervisor, Manager, and/or House Supervisor. The Charge Nurse will lead the team in a professional manner, in accordance with hospital policy, to ensure the highest quality of care and promote positive outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and supervision to departmental nursing staff. - Monitor and coordinate the daily patient care activities of the unit; schedule staff and patients to ensure full coverage of patient care needs and to ensure effective delivery of patient care. - Serve as point person for daily unit communication needs such as staff assignments, face to face communication, trouble shooting and problem resolution for day-to-day issues that arise in accordance with established policies and procedures. - Provide expert, day-to-day guidance, consultation and leadership to the team including educating n...
