Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Medication History Pharmacy Technician. This role is responsible for obtaining an accurate medication history by interviewing patients and consulting with their outpatient pharmacies. QUALIFICATIONS: All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. Education: - Obtain medication histories on all assigned patients during scheduled shifts. - Perform patient and/or caregiver interviews to obtain allergies and dose, route, frequency, indication, and date/time last dose taken of current medications including prescriptions, over the counter medications, and herbal supplements. - Preferred: Degree in Pharmacology. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: - Minimum: Pharmacy Technician Licensure by the California State Board of Pharmacy. - Preferred: Above plus/and National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification Medication History Certificate. Technical Requirements: - Minimum: Computer skills and knowledge of pharmacy technology. - Preferred: Familiarity with EPIC.
