Brandeis University Precollege Programs seeks an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and flexible Assistant Director for its well-known Genesis program. The assistant director will work 60 – 70 remote hours, beginning June 1. During the summer, the Assistant Director will work directly under the supervision of the Genesis Director. This is a residential position and requires the Assistant Director to live in Genesis dormitories. The hourly rate for this position is $27.53, 40 hour work week. Academic year (60 – 70 hours starting June 1; can be done remotely) The Assistant Director will: Create and/or update a guide for students outlining all aspects of religious life on campus, including key words and definitions (eruv, kashrut etc). Kashrut/Eating and keeping kosher, prayer before/after meals. Shabbat observance (variety of practices; what we do/don’t do). Tefillah (what we offer and when). Work with Hillel staff to ensure implementation of eruv. Design a 25 hour orientation for Community Educators, covering all relevant aspects of curriculum, residential life, health and behavioral concerns, student honor code, boundaries and reporting procedures.
