Job Summary/Overall Objectives The Physician, Orthopedic Surgery examines, diagnoses and treats hospitalized and outpatient patients. The position manages patients through the continuum of hospital care by collaborating with other medical professionals including Clinical Assistants, Medical Assistants, Clerical, and Administrative staff. The position orders treatments, tests, medication and consults with other specialty physicians and primary care physician where appropriate. The position performs surgical procedures to prevent or surgically correct injury, treat disease, or abnormalities by using surgical techniques to increase patient functioning.
