Job description

All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility. Enforcement Specialist (Zoning Enforcement Inspector) Position Summary: The Zoning Enforcement Inspector is responsible for enforcing the Unified Government’s zoning ordinance and land use regulations to ensure compliance with adopted development standards. This position investigates complaints, conducts field inspections, and documents violations related to zoning, land use, and property compliance. The Zoning Enforcement Inspector works closely with planning staff, building inspections, and other departments to address zoning violations and support orderly development. The position also provides guidance to residents, property owners, and businesses regarding zoning requirements and corrective actions needed to achieve compliance.
