Associate Teacher Bank Street Family Center: Under the direction of the teacher, the associate teacher will assist in implementing developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum which encourages learning through exploration and discovery and promotes the development of a positive self-image. The associate teacher will model positive social interactions and language. The associate teacher will implement positive class management techniques and strategies. All practices the associate teacher uses must be consistent with guidelines put forth by Bank Street College and the New York City Department of Health /Bureau of Day Care. Responsibilities: Qualifications: - Ensure the health, safety and well-being of children in the program by providing close supervision of children during all activities. - Assist in the planning and implementing of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports and stimulates each child’s individual development. - Assist in carrying out stimulating lesson plans promoting exploration, creativity, and discovery. - Assist in working with parents to promote understanding of growth and development of their child. - Effectively communicate with parents...
