Staff Equipment Engineer

Job description

Position Summary The Staff Equipment Engineer is responsible for the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role leads tool ownership, drives yield and uptime improvements, supports new equipment installations, and provides technical leadership to technicians and junior engineers in a high-volume or advanced-node fab environment. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Ownership & Performance: - Own and maintain assigned process equipment. - Drive equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, and utilization improvements. - Establish and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs. - Lead troubleshooting of complex equipment and process issues. Manufacturing Support: - Provide on-floor engineering support to sustain 24/7 fab operations. - Rapidly respond to tool down, yield excursions, and safety events. - Partner with Process, Yield, and Manufacturing teams to resolve tool-related defects and variability. Continuous Improvement: - Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) using 8D, FMEA, SPC, and DOE methodologies. - Implement hardware, software, and procedural improvements to improve tool stability and cost of ownership. - Drive spare par...
