Instructional Student Assistant Employment Opportunity JOB DESCRIPTION: ***OPEN TO CURRENT STANISLAUS STATE STUDENTS, CURRENTLY ENROLLED OR ELIGIBILE TO ENROLL ONLY*** Job title and description: Peer Educator The Learning Commons invites students to apply for the Peer Educator position as a Peer Tutor or SI Leader. Peer Educators assist students with academic support in identified courses and are assigned one or more roles based on experiences and needs. A SI Leader is embedded in the class and facilitates weekly study sessions outside of class. Peer Tutors engage appointment-based sessions with a student or group of students for a specific class. Embedded Tutors engage in class activities while also providing drop-in tutoring outside of class. Drop-In Tutors are available by subject to support students who may drop-in without an appointment (Math Pathways and STEM Pals positions). - Provide academic assistance in the form of Peer Tutoring or Supplemental Instruction in identified courses. - Participate in professional development activities to improve skills, to continue to grow cultural competence, and reflections skills - Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeli...
