POSITION OVERVIEW: Sets up and operates internal grinding machines to perform the grinding operations necessary to produce finished parts to specified print tolerances. JOB DESCRIPTION (Key Responsibilities): - Perform all work elements to make any setup or reset in the machine group. Set-ups may include removing and installing support rolls; indicating, removing, and installing pressure rolls; installing spindles; changing motor pulleys; and changing and adjusting diamond roll dresser. Also, will install one motor block to drive the grinding wheel to dress the drive roll and a second motor block to drive the grinding wheel for bearing components. Changing, grinding, and adjusting jaws on the chuck work-head. Changing, and grinding backing plates. Setting, and adjusting shoe and shoe holder. - During the time required to complete a machine setup, the operator will attend the running machines in the group at regular intervals. - Operates multiple machines simultaneously. Manually loads all units with parts and removes parts from unloading trays. - Uses a limited variety of gauges, such as air, mechanical, plug, and runout, to inspect parts running on all units.
