Facility Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina Department: 3 VPN Surgical Job Family: Nursing Support Work Shift: Nights (United States of America) Summary: Provide clerical services to maximize the functioning of the unit. Maintain responsibility for telemetry emergency phone. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Greet patients upon admission by introducing themselves and welcoming patient to the unit Introduce self to patients daily with face-to-face contact Identify the patient by using name and date of birth to include checking medical records that accompany the patient and patient armband Act as receptionist and greets hospital staff and visitors Initiate, receive, and deliver telephone messages related to unit activities Maintain patients’ charts on assigned units Order and maintain adequate supply levels on unit Assume responsibility for answering the telemetry emergency phone and pass responsibility if leaving the desk Files telemetry...
