Job description

Position Summary The Diesel Technician Apprentice works alongside a knowledgeable Casella Waste Diesel Technician to learn and further develop skills. The Apprentice provides maintenance, repairs vehicles and equipment, and mainly focuses on preventative maintenance and maintaining the safety of all vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Technician Apprentice will continue in this role until they compete all training requirements. The starting hourly rate for this position is $25 per hour and comes with an annual $2,000 tool allowance. Key Responsibilities: - Gains an understanding of basic parts, processes, and maintenance techniques as instructed by knowledgeable technicians. - Learns how to complete all work orders, perform maintenance tasks based on driver pre and post trip inspections in a timely manner. - Performs all job duties in accordance with company safety policies and regulations to ensure safe operations. - Assists senior level technicians in performing preventative Maintenance Inspections. - Aids senior level technicians on larger projects. - Learns how to thoroughly identify defects requiring correction, which would affect the availability of the equipment and the safet...
