Description Fabricator/Welding Technician Reports To: Fabrication Service Manager: Summary: The primary function of the Fab Technician( Fabricator) is to perform major and minor collision repair on a variety of different trucks and truck equipment. Repairs include diagnostic procedures and maintenance such as Cab & Sheet Metal Repair, Composite Repair, Bonding, Surface Preparation, Fiberglass Repair, Alignment, Painting, and Welding. Key Responsibilities: - Study and interpret assembly instructions. - Fabricate and assemble equipment for Medium and Heavy-Duty trucks. - Determine whether all parts needed for the job are present, and read and interpret blueprints and sketches. - Assemble tools and materials, position parts and subassemblies. - Verify specifications of the Fabrication job. - Resolve assembly and production issues. - Complete Preventative Maintenance as needed. - Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed. - Ensure working space is clean and safe. - Complete quality controls. - Accurately records time, cause, and correction on Repair Orders. - Routinely use computerized equipment and specialized tooling. - Participate in and complete technical training and...
