Work Shift Evening Shift Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by performing essential housekeeping functions throughout the hospital. Primary work will consist of disinfecting/sanitizing patient care areas and other areas of the hospital. Work is completed in a friendly, safe and sanitary way following infection control guidelines, universal precautions and directives from EVS Management Team. Job Description: Job Duties/Essential Functions: - Job Duties - Disinfects/sanitizes assigned work area using proper equipment. - Removes waste, linen, recycling, some equipment, and sharps containers. - Cleans assigned area(s) following the daily duty sheet. - Vacuums assigned area(s), uses and maintains equipment properly and safely. - Reports needed repairs or safety related items immediately to appropriate level of management. - Reports any patient's belongings found to nursing immediately for prompt follow up. - Replenishes patient supplies as needed or requested by the patient. - Strips, sanitizes and makes all types of hospital beds. - Demonstrates proper use of standard precautions and infection control policies. - Demo...
