Job description

As an associate chair of film and television, you will join an impressive array of faculty who have received Primetime Emmy Awards, Peabody Awards, and Academy Award nominations, among other distinctions and honors. Each day, you will lead a team in fulfilling the mission, vision, and values of the university and consult with the department leaders on the strategic plan of the program to improve its reputation. In doing so, you will foster a positively oriented university environment through mutual respect, collegiality, and collaboration. Likewise, you will encourage a shared commitment among department faculty and will work to build a cohesive department team through frequent, effective communication of shared goals and duties. Responsibilities include participation in faculty recruitment trips and the entire hiring process, submission of anticipated headcount needs, and decision-making on student matters. In this role, you will support academic excellence through quality instruction and instructional engagement, as evidenced by student achievements and work outcomes.
