FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: DEPARTMENT OF ART AND DESIGN: Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position: POSITION AVAILABLE : One or more temporary, part-time lecturers to teach A rt History, Art Studio, Illustration, Graphic Design, Game Design, and/or Web Design in Fall Semester 2026, and Spring Semester 2027. Nearly all studio and design activity courses are 100% in-person at the Hayward Campus. THE DEPARTMENT : The Department of Art and Design offers coursework leading to a B.A. or B.F.A in Art with seven options: Art History & Visual Studies, Art & Design (general), Fine Art Practice, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interaction & Game Design, and Video & Animation. Coursework in this area focuses on the development of students’ perceptual skills, their access to the imagination, and their ability to think critically and independently. The Department of Art and Design also offers coursework leading to an M.A. in Interaction Design and Interactive Arts. Coursework in this area focuses on the creative and technical aspects of new technology to create, control, deliver and present meaningful content in a variety of interactive forms.
