VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is growing its Emergency and Critical Care Service and seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality emergency care to animals in need. Our Emergency and Critical Care team ensures that the most critical cases receive immediate attention and that all patients receive the care they need. Key Responsibilities: The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to: Triage: Perform an initial assessment to evaluate the patient's condition quickly. This includes checking vital signs, assessing for obvious injuries or distress, and gathering information from the pet owner about the situation. Venipuncture and IVC Placement: Proficiently perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement. Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer fluids, medications, and other treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. Team Collaboration: Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care. Maintain open communication with the healthcare team.
