Job description

We are looking for auxiliary Pool Service Workers to join our dynamic team at the təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre, a state of the art facility designed for flexibility, accessibility, and sustainability. This is combined operational, technical and building maintenance work performed on an assigned shift in an aquatic facility. You will perform a variety of routine maintenance, inspectional and security duties relating to swimming pools and aquatic buildings and equipment. In addition, you carry out pool filtration and vacuuming duties as required. Duties include: janitorial and custodial duties, ensuring that the weight area, washrooms, changing rooms, lobby and pools are maintained at an established level of cleanliness and sanitation at all times; maintaining a routine inspection and maintenance program for filtration systems and related pool equipment and recommending the need for major repair work to be undertaken externally; inspecting, adjusting and operating a variety of swimming pool equipment such as pumps, valves, chlorinators, heating units, filters, chlorine tanks, pipes, meters and motors as necessary to ensure the water quality and effective operation of the...
