About Us A full-time Research Technician B position is available in the Hegde laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. We are a systems immunology lab within the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC) that focuses on the long-range communication between solid cancer inflammation and sites of hematopoiesis i.e. blood cell formation. We study how myeloid cells - chiefly monocytes and granulocytes - are co-opted by tumor inflammation to suppress anti-tumor immune responses or are distorted after rounds of genotoxic therapies (e.g.– chemotherapy, radiation). We have a particular interest in dissecting the early education of myeloid cell progenitors in bone marrow and/or spleen by inflammation. Combining high-dimensional longitudinal profiling of patient tissues with mechanistic studies in mouse models of cancer, our lab aims to understand how inflammatory cues alter the genetic, epigenetic, and metabolic wiring within myeloid cells and their progenitors. Our lab will work closely with clinician-scientists at Einstein and beyond, developing and testing the next generation of myeloid cell-targeted immunotherapies for solid tumors such as pancreatic cancer....
