Job description

Supervises certified law enforcement officers, security guards and civilians in the performance of protective and regulatory duties related to the safeguarding of Dallas County Property and Employees for an assigned shift, including contracted security. Management Scope: Supervise security officers and/or contract security screening personnel 1. Oversees the performance of security duties in and around County property, assists in controlling disturbances on County Property, takes necessary action to prevent injury and loss of property, reports all circumstances to proper authorities. 2. Supervises and trains shift staff to respond to fire alarms, bomb threats, medical emergencies, burglar alarms and other calls for service. 3. Oversees activity at weapons screening points and coordinates with contract supervisor targeting troubled areas. 4. Reports maintenance needs identified while performing rounds and operates as dispatch for maintenance after hours and weekends. 5. Writes briefing for other shift personnel, prepares paperwork, schedules and directs all special events that take place after hours and on weekends. 6.
