Title: University Supervisor of Student Teachers in World Language Teacher Education Division Name: Academic Affairs: College/Unit: College of Arts and Sciences Department: Languages, Literatures and Cultures: Campus Location: Normal, IL: General Summary: The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is in search of a pool of qualified persons interested in the supervision of teacher candidates in World Language (French, German, and Spanish) education. Supervisors are needed in both Central Illinois and the Chicagoland area. This position involves mentoring teacher candidates in their semester-long student teaching internship. The university supervisor is a liaison between ISU and the school district personnel, primarily the cooperating teacher. The supervisor is responsible for observing the student teacher on-site and providing formal and informal assessments of the teacher candidate’s teaching performance, which requires multiple (3-5) on-site observations with brief post-conference meetings.
