Job description

Correctly processes and distributes specimens: - Performs collection verification according to procedure - Correlates specimens with all appropriate requests and delivers to correct areas. - Accurately registers patients on lab computer - Processes STAT specimens for referral and completes necessary forms - Properly processes AFB specimens for referral and completes necessary forms - Properly processes PKU specimens for referral and completes necessary forms - Properly processes Rubella & other specimens for State referral and completes necessary forms - Accurately orders testing during computer down time Properly collects venipuncture specimens: - Verifies patient identification prior to collection and labels correctly - Knows type specimen prior to collection - Performs invasive procedures as needed to collect specimens. - Collects pediatric using appropriate supplies with minimum trauma - Successfully collects PKU (goal <1% unsatisfactory) - Collects Blood Bank specimens according to procedure - Collects Blood cultures using aseptic technique. - Properly collects Trough & Peaks and completes form - Properly collects T helper/Quant HIV - Collects STAT and timed requests within 15...
