Position Summary The Orthopaedic Technician II provides orthopaedic support in an outpatient setting with responsibilities ranging from applying orthopaedic devices to assisting with minor procedures and wound care. This role includes advanced casting and splinting, procedural assistance, inventory oversight, mentorship, and support for high-level orthopaedic procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. - Escorts and room patients; obtains and records full vital signs, including pulse oximetry. - Applies, adjusts, fits, and removes a wide variety of orthopaedic devices, including fiberglass/plaster casts, braces, splints, walking boots, and immobilizers. - Assists in sterile procedures, including wound care, suture/staple removal, and minor office-based surgeries. - Assembles, adjusts, and monitors traction and orthopaedic equipment. - Applies and removes surgical dressings and orthopaedic hardware/devices per protocol. - Provides patient education regarding orthopaedic appliance care and mobility aid use. - Maintains infection control, ste...
