Job description

This posting is for 1 hourly position for up to 7 months The Equipment Operator I with Park Development contributes to the maintenance and improvement of outdoor recreational areas by safely operating a variety of equipment, performing manual labour and training other staff in the safe operation of equipment. This position is based out of Strathcona Athletic Park and the work is performed in the area of Park Development within Strathcona County. Key Responsibilities: - Perform inspections of playgrounds, courts, skate/bmx parks, spray parks, hockey rinks, etc. - Assist with park construction and maintenance, fence maintenance and painting, boardwalks and bridges, and graffiti removal and other duties - Monitors, maintains and services equipment to ensure it is in proper working order and meets operating and safety standards - Uses and shares knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations and Code, follows safety guidelines, identifies potential hazardous situations and adapts appropriately - Assists Equipment Operator II and Team Lead positions by training other staff members in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment used in park operations - Displays acco...
