At GFL Environmental, the Shop Foreman is the backbone of our operational reliability. You will lead a team of technicians in a fast-paced environment, ensuring our fleet of heavy-duty collection trucks, yellow iron, and support equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for the road. You are a hands-on leader who balances technical "wrench time" with the administrative discipline required to manage one of the largest fleets in North America. The Shop Foreman must be dependable, enthusiastic, organized, and capable of consistently performing to meet established standards and deadlines Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Manage and mentor service personnel by assigning work orders, directing daily shop activities, and performing "high-level" repairs to lead by example. Fleet Availability: Partner with the Maintenance/General Manager to coordinate equipment release (motor vehicles, compaction units, etc.) for inspections and service, minimizing downtime for our routes. Digital Workflow Management: Expertly plan and schedule repairs within the TMW Planning system , ensuring all parts are procured and staged before the truck hits the bay.
