Overview Overview: The D237 Test Services and Support Mechanic is responsible to support the performance of the Steam and Electric Plant (S&EP), and Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Test programs for the VIRGINIA Class and COLUMBIA Class in Groton, and routing, installing, and servicing various mechanical temporary services and systems. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Performing testing and operations in Test Facilities, COATS, Pure Water Shed, Duck Pond, Machine Shop (LPT & LET Testing), and other testing and activities - Standing crib issue point attendant ensuring correct materials are issued to testers that are in compliance with application, rating, and conformity to their intended end use - Reading and interpreting isometric, mechanical system, and test equipment drawings/diagrams for kit building and test equipment assembly - Achieving and maintaining qualifications in NAVSEA 6010, Steam Plant Clean, and Grade A - Conducting preventative maintenance of test equipment and shipboard equipment to include hydrostatic testing of Test Facilities’ hoses and operational checks and repairs of Test Facilities’ equipment - Working shipboard with mec...
