Overview Element has an opportunity for a Materials Engineer at the Materials Lab embedded within the Rolls Royce manufacturing facility. This role will provide technical assistance to the Rolls Royce customer and Element co-workers, with focus on quality, standardization, and continuous improvement. Element is driving toward achieving a NADCAP quality system accreditation. All job duties and functions support accreditation efforts. Salary: $65,000 - $85,000.00 yearly DOE Responsibilities: - Candidate must be a US Citizen.• Perform sample preparation steps of section, mount, grind, and polish metallurgical test specimens following laboratory procedures published by customer and relevant industry specifications including ASTM E3• Perform Tensile, Rockwell Hardness and Microhardness tests per ASTM E8/A370, ASTM E18 and ASTM E384.• Perform metallurgical evaluations and issue reports. Evaluations include grain size per ASTM E112, intergranular attack/oxidation per ASTM F2111, traditional/abusive machining evaluation, SEM/EDS analysis of debris and contamination, coating and plating thickness, and others.• Perform weekly and monthly sieve analysis of media for production department. • P...
